FAQs

Do I need internet access to operate Feed-Buddy?

No, internet access is not required to set up the feeding schedule or to operate Feed-Buddy remotely. Once the setup is complete, the schedule is stored locally on the device. Therefore, your animals will continue to be fed even if your internet connection is down.

Do I need access to power/electricity to operate Feed-Buddy?

Yes, currently, Feed-Buddy is available only in a corded version. If you are interested in a battery-powered version, please let us know. We can collaborate to develop one.

How do I control Feed-Buddy?

Feed-Buddy can be controlled remotely using a third-party app on your smartphone or manually using the button on the feeder itself.

How can I adjust the amount of pellet feed given to my animals?

The volume of pellets dispensed can be adjusted in the app by setting the duration for which the feeder runs. Based on our testing, one minute of operation dispenses approximately one scoop of pellets.

What size of pellets should I use with Feed-Buddy?

We recommend using small pellets. Our device has been tested with pellets that are ⅓ inch in diameter.

How many animals can Feed-Buddy feed simultaneously?

Feed-Buddy is designed with a single output. However, we offer a "Y" connector accessory that allows you to split the feed into two streams, enabling simultaneous feeding of two animals.

What does your customer service entail?

Our customer service team is based in California, USA. Most of our parts are 3D-printed in-house, which allows us to readily provide any necessary spare parts.

What is included in the box?

The package includes only the feeder. You will need to provide the holding container and any PVC piping necessary to direct the pellets to the desired location.

Is the feeder water-resistant?

Yes, Feed-Buddy is water-resistant. However, it is not recommended to leave the feeder in direct rainfall, as this could affect the quality of the pellets in the holding container.
